A Gift of Time
Volunteering provides a chance to give to others.
Each year Teton
Valley Hospital & Surgicenter volunteers give
thousands of hours to support and enhance patient care. Hospital
volunteers, ages 14 and over, enjoy the opportunity to help others
heal. Volunteers make a tremendous impact on the health services
we provide. The partnership of caring volunteers and dedicated
staff helps us best meet the health needs of our patients

Opportunities to Care
Teton Valley Hospital & Surgicenter volunteers typically contribute
three or more hours of time weekly by supporting:
- Teton Valley Hospital Auxiliary runs the See
N Save Thrift Store in Driggs. Duties include, sales, sorting,
staffing and store management. They also organize a hospital gift cabinet. Dues are $5 a year
or $25 for life. Membership is not required to volunteer.
- Hospital
Volunteers provide clerical support
and assist with maintenance duties and hospital events.
- Patient
Activities volunteers read, play games,
help with crafts and escort patients on walks.
- Teton
Valley Hospital Foundation volunteers
help generate charitable gifts for the hospital through Board
service and Foundation activities.
- Hospice trained
volunteers provide comfort to terminally. ill patients and
their families, serving 4 to 6 hours monthly for one year
after training. They also provide support for Home Care Services
patients.
- Caring from the Heart volunteer chaplains offer
spiritual care in the hospital setting to patients, families
and staff. An ordained clergy referral and training are required.
Chaplains commit to 24 hour on call shifts.
- Home Delivered
Meals volunteers deliver hot
lunches to the area homebound on Wednesdays and Thursdays. They
must have a driver's license, a car and be willing to travel
in varying weather conditions.
- Teton Valley Learning
Center helps care for
children ages 6 weeks-5 years. Youth ages 11-14 are eligible
to volunteer upon completion of the American Red Cross Babysitting
Course.
How to Apply
Youth ages 14 through 17, and adults age 18 and over are welcome
to serve as Teton Valley Hospital & Surgicenter volunteers.
The application process is simple and assures each volunteer is
matched with an opportunity they will enjoy. Participants complete
a one page volunteer application and an interview with the hospital's
director of human resources. Volunteers complete a general hospital
orientation followed by training for volunteer activities.

health. Volunteers feel connected to their community and receive
an opportunity to socialize.
Teton Valley Hospital & Surgicenter
recognizes and appreciates volunteer contributions. Each spring
hospital volunteers are recognized with a special luncheon catered
by staff. Teton Valley Hospital & Surgicenter

or diagnosis.
